The INTERDISICT PhD program is specifically devised for students seeking to conduct leading-edge research in applied technology or problems requiring an interdisciplinary approach. Our current students include computer scientists but also people with different backgrounds as social researchers or medical doctors engaged in technology, from different countries in Europe and Latin America. Students not living in Madrid or working at industry are able to follow the PhD at a distance.
The PhD program
The PhD program on applications and interdiciplinary problems in ICT (INTERDISCict) is an official PhD program offered by the School of Informatics of the University of Alcalá. The program is targeted to students that aim at conducting applied or interdisciplinary research touching technology. This includes most topics related to Web Science.
Students (staying or at a distance) in the program will be supervised by senior researchers and become part of a vibrant research environment inside a highly productive research group and in an international collaboration context.
Associated MsC program
The MsC program on pluri-disciplinary informatics is specifically targeted to
prepare for the INTERDISCict PhD program (but it is not a requisite in most cases, see admission section).
The program is offering an on-line or blended international 60 credit track fully in English and tailored to preparation for research.
